I will never forget the looks on the faces of Tajai, Phesto, and A-plus, as they walked into the Power Plant on the U of a Campus to Epics’ Thought Process as the crowd Chanted in unison, “Yo!!”, “these are my thoughts” Epic proclaims, again the crowd chants “Yo!!”, a packed house and Epic getting serenaded by die hard fans and friends (of course) in front of one of the most influential hip hop groups of all time. Yes the grey hair is real, and yes Epic has accomplished more than most of the Emcee’s in the city in which he resides; so yes, Epic can travel a lot of places and receive the same treatment that he received when he opened for Souls of Mischief at the U of A Power Plant. Rapping since about 93', Epic is a veteran in today’s saturated Canadian independent hip hop industry. Epic's nonconformist style seems to mirror life in the prairies right down to the staggered cadence of his punch lines. And let’s face it; he looks like he’s got ta be from Saskatoon. Epic is now working on an album with Belgium based producer Nomad and says he’s happy working with his friends who include some of the hottest producers in Canada to date, namely Nato, Soso, Muneshine, Maki, Factor, and others. Involved in the Saskatoon hip hop scene since 1990 with a style that’s beyond ridiculous, Epic found a fan base that rips through many different demographics in Canada, as well as over seas. Peep the interview, and pick up the new album from Epic, Local Only.
